dinner with friends
Some of our friends from North Augusta - the O'Neals - were in Sapphire, NC while we were at the lake. Since you have to drive about 30 minutes to go out to dinner any way...we met up with them at the Sapphire Mountain Brewing Company.

Big Mo
The Big Mo is a drive-in in Monetta, SC -- about 30 minutes from North Augusta. We have been here for almost 3 years and never made it there for a movie. Now that we are getting ready to move (again), I decided it was one of those things I/we needed to do before we left. So, Carson and I left a little early from the soccer tournament to head back for a night at the Big Mo. Beth came down and we met up with some friends (the Tooles). You have to get there early (around 6:30) so that you can get a good parking space. We got there early enough for 2nd row right in front of the screen! There was a lot of thunder and lightning and a little bit of rain while we waited on it to get dark enough for the movie to start (9:00). The kids played on the playground and went back and forth between the two cars playing before the movie. The adults just hung out. We all had a good time and the movie - Toy Story 3 - was really cute. Maybe we will come back again after we move. Monetta isn't too far from Columbia....

Carson's 7th BiRtHdAy PaRtY!
We had his party at the Country Club because of the diving board. Most of the kids (and a few of the dads) spent a majority of the time jumping, diving and flipping off of the diving board.

Zac Brown Band Concert
We met Beth and Jennifer for a little pre-concert dinner in Simponville and then headed over to the concert. Traffic was a mess but we finally got parked. And walked a looong way thru the mud and muck to get to the ampitheater. After a quick (but desperately needed) stop at the porta-john we finally settled in to enjoy the concert. We heard a couple of the opening bands - and they weren't too bad. The Zac Brown Band came on shortly after 8:00 and played a few familiar tunes (that Molly sang along to) and a few new ones. About an hour into the concert it started to ligntning pretty bad, so we all headed (back thru the mud and the muck) to our cars. We decided it was probably not good idea to try to wait out the weather and instead headed to our favorite little Bed and Breakfast in Taylors. The kids were passed out by the time we got there, so we probably made the right decision to call it a night. All in all, we had a pretty good time.
